EverySim CAE simulation: from engineering question to evidence

Understand computer-aided engineering (CAE), the difference between simulation and CAD, and how to evaluate browser-based CFD and structural FEA workflows with EverySim.

Published by EverySim · Content and sources reviewed:

CAE means computer-aided engineering: using computational methods to support engineering analysis. CAD defines geometry; CFD analyzes fluid behavior; structural FEA analyzes a discretized solid model. EverySim connects browser-accessible simulation workflows, but selecting the right model remains an engineering decision.

Turn a design question into a simulation plan

Define the decision first: compare aerodynamic configurations, estimate a load or inspect deformation. Specify the result quantity and an acceptance criterion before choosing a solver. A colorful result is not evidence that the modeled question was the right one.

A traceable CAE workflow

Keep geometry, units, materials, loads and boundary conditions with each study. Change one documented design variable at a time when comparing alternatives.

  • Prepare a geometry revision and identify the analysis domain.
  • Choose the physics and numerical assumptions appropriate to the question.
  • Generate and check the mesh, then inspect convergence.
  • Compare the result with a reference, an experiment or a justified engineering estimate.

Where EverySim fits

EveryDrone, EveryAero and EveryStructure provide product-specific entry points for drone, aerodynamic and structural engineering. Check available workflows with your representative case. Cloud access does not prove a model is valid, and calculators are not a replacement for detailed analysis when their assumptions do not apply.

Questions and answers

What is the difference between CAD and CAE?

CAD describes design geometry. CAE uses an engineering model, boundary conditions and numerical analysis to investigate behavior. Preparing a CAD model does not automatically make it simulation-ready.

Does EverySim simulation establish certification?

No. Numerical results need application-specific verification and validation; they do not independently establish certification or safety.
