EverySim CAD-to-simulation: geometry and meshing checklist

Prepare CAD geometry for CAE, CFD and FEA in EverySim. Check units, topology, analysis regions and mesh quality; CAD preparation is not the same as general-purpose CAD authoring.

Published by EverySim · Content and sources reviewed:

CAD-to-simulation is the preparation of design geometry for an engineering model. EverySim is a simulation platform, not a claimed replacement for every CAD authoring system. Confirm the supported input format and prepare geometry, units and analysis regions before meshing.

A visually correct CAD model can still fail analysis preparation

Tiny features, gaps, intersections or an incorrect scale can change the analysis domain or prevent a useful mesh. Simplification should preserve the features that affect the engineering question. Keep the original revision so preparation choices are traceable.

Before generating a mesh

Use the current CAD guidelines and test a representative file rather than inferring compatibility from a file extension.

  • Confirm units, overall dimensions and coordinate orientation.
  • Check whether the intended bodies and boundaries are present.
  • Remove unnecessary detail only when its physical effect is understood.
  • Inspect the imported geometry and generated mesh before assigning conditions.

Keep geometry changes visible in design comparisons

Store a named revision and note each cleanup operation. A geometry change can change surface selection, mesh density and loads, so review those assignments after editing. Unsupported native-project interchange and lossless CAD migration are not promised by this guide.

Questions and answers

Is EverySim a general-purpose CAD modeling replacement?

This guide describes geometry preparation and simulation. It does not claim parity with a general-purpose CAD authoring or product-lifecycle system.

Does a supported file extension guarantee a mesh will succeed?

No. Geometry quality, topology, units and analysis requirements still need inspection on the actual model.
